School has started for another term and you see football on TV now. These two events tell me that fall is now
here. This is also a busy time for the library. On Monday through Wednesday each week the students from Central school are at the
library checking out books and hearing stories while their school library is having some work done. On Thursdays and Saturdays
there are story times for preschoolers. The fall TALK programs are going on as well as several special programs for adults on topics like "Graffiti" and "Elections." Call the library or check out our web page for more specific information.
Then
we also have our monthly "Coffee, Donuts & a Movie" the 1st Tuesday of the month along with "New Book Power Lunch"
the 3rd Wednesday. For those who want or need to learn basic computer skills we teach a basic class on the 4th Thursday
in our recently updated computer lab. So if you want to be where it's happening, try stopping by Dodge City Public
Library.
Please drop us a line or send an email to me at director@trails.net. If you have not been to the library lately, stop by and see what is new here.

Spotlight on Staff
Michael Biltz became Public Service Librarian at Dodge City Public Library in July 2004. He received a Master of Library Science degree from Emporia State University and worked in the Special Collections department of William Allen White Library on the ESU campus. Here at DCPL you can find Michael helping patrons or checking out materials. He also works with all the donated materials and keeps our web page up-to-date. Many of the adult programs have been coordinated by him. In his spare, time Michael likes to read, especially on topics dealing with Evolutionary Biology. Michael and his wife Autumn can be found at the park playing with their girls, Alexandria and Mariah, or involved in church activities. The next time you stop by the library be sure to say hi to Michael and ask him about the latest book he has read. |
